Flying high in my little baking world!
I’ve gotten five orders in the past couple days… cookies are up to $5/dozen, which is exciting for me. I still think it’s crazy that people are actually buying my stuff!
Also, I’ve been offered my first official job- a country club wants me to be their pastry chef, at least for the summer. Still figuring out the technicalities, but still. Eek :)

Spent today helping at an ACF event in my city!
It was great. I worked the carving station for a local restaurant opening in May…

Smoked ribs (apple & honey glaze)

Apple Crostata
Amazing crust! We made this in school the other day.
Crust:
1-1/4 C all-purpose flour
2 T sugar
1/2 t salt
1/2 C cold butter
1/4 C cold water
1/2 t vanilla
Combine dry ingredients in a bowl; cut together with a pastry blender until butter chunks are crumb-sized.
Add vanilla and water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough forms a ball.
Wrap in plastic...

Double Chocolate Cloud Cookies
I absolutely LOVE this recipe. It’s originally from a Light Baking cookbook (there are only 33 calories per cookie) and it looks really cool on a cookie tray :)
Ingredients:
3 egg whites
1/8 t cream of tartar
3/4 C sugar
1 t vanilla
2 T baking cocoa (unsweetened)
3/4 C Chocolate chips (semi-sweet or bittersweet are best)

Cinnamon Rolls
Ingredients:
2 T active dry yeast
1/2 C lukewarm water
1/2 C lukewarm milk
1/2 C sugar
1 t salt
2 eggs
1/2 C shortening
4-5 C flour (all-purpose is fine)
Procedure:
Dissolve yeast in water and milk. Stir in sugar, salt, eggs, shortening, and 2-1/2 C of the flour.
Beat until smooth. Mix enough remaining flour to make the dough easy to handle....

Have you ever made/eaten pizza bread?
…Because it is one of the yummiest things IN THE WORLD. Simple yeast dough, then you roll it into a rectangle, add olive oil, mozzarella, pepperoni, parmesan, and whatever else your heart desires. Then roll it up, tuck in the edges, brush with olive oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake at 350’ for about 20 minutes… mmmm.

Family Christmas Party!
There’s gonna be like ten different varieties of homemade pizza, including dessert pizza, bacon-bleu-cheese pizza, and feta-corn-tomato pizza, all made by yours truly :) So stoked!
